چکیده
Abstract The surface reactions of different energetic CHy molecules were studied using classical molecular dynamics. The sticking coefficient and the sputter yield of the different hydrocarbon species were studied for kinetic energies from 5 to 100 eV. Their dependence on the energy of the projectile and the angle of incidence are reported. Additionally, the results are compared to results from TRIM calculations on a similar system.

Hydrocarbon Characteristics in Fusion Edge Plasmas from Electron- Molecule and Ion- Surface Collision Experiments
The compatibility of reactor grade plasmas with plasma facing materials at the first wall is one of the present challenges in fusion research. In order to understand and elucidate the role of radiative and collisional processes in the edge plasma region, it is essential to have available detailed and quantitative knowledge on the corresponding elementary reactions proceeding in the volume befor...
متن کاملPlasma-surface interactions of hydrogenated carbon
We present a review of our study of interactions of plasma particles (atoms, molecules) with hydrogenated amorphous carbon surfaces typical of plasma-facing divertor tiles and deposited layers in magnetic-fusion reactors. Our computer simulations of these processes are based on classical molecular dynamics simulations, using the best currently available multibody bond-order hydrocarbon potentia...

Silica phases were precipitated on aluminum surface by potentiostatic plasma electrolysis technique. Aqueous sodium silicate solutions with different concentrations were used for this purpose. SEM, EDS, XRD, surface profiles and polarization curves were used to study coatings properties. The results showed that the growth of the silica containing phases on aluminum surface was promoted by incre...
متن کاملMolecular dynamics studies of the chemical sputtering of carbon-based materials by hydrogen bombardment
A central issue in the performance of tokamak fusion devices is the choice of the plasma-facing materials. During the device operation the plasma-facing surfaces are subject to extreme heat and particle loads, as they are impinged on by escaped fusion plasma particles. Although carbon-based materials have excellent thermomechanical properties in view of the high heat flux, their use in the next...

The interaction of CH3 and H with amorphous hydrocarbon surfaces plays a central role during plasma deposition of such films. Recently, this interaction has been explored in particle beam experiments. A rate equation model has been proposed which explains the experimental observations on the basis of elementary surface reactions. This model includes several parameters which have the meaning of ...
